Renovating to Sell?
Add Value Without the Big Spend.
A low-cost kitchen refresh that helps your home show better, sell faster, and hold its price — without the cost and disruption of a full rebuild.
Spend where it sells. Skip where it doesn't.
When you're selling, the kitchen does more of the selling than any other room. Buyers and agents form an opinion in seconds, and a tired kitchen drags the whole home down with it. A clean, current one lifts how the place feels — and what people are willing to pay for it.
Here's the part most people get wrong: you rarely need a full rebuild to get there. New cabinet doors, an updated benchtop, a fresh splashback and new handles can make a dated kitchen look near-new — for a fraction of what a full kitchen makeover costs.
We've been doing this from our Taren Point showroom for 35 years, right across Sydney. When you're renovating to sell, the job isn't to build your dream kitchen — it's to spend as little as possible to make the biggest difference to your sale. That's a different brief, and we'll treat it like one.
Is a pre-sale refresh the right call for your place?
Not every kitchen is worth touching before a sale. Here's roughly how we'll talk it through with you.
It usually pays off when…
- The kitchen is dated but structurally sound — the bones are fine, it just looks tired.
- The layout already works; it's the doors, benchtop or splashback letting it down.
- You're listing in the next few weeks or months.
- Comparable homes near you are selling with updated kitchens.
Think twice when…
- The kitchen is failing or unsafe — a quick refresh papers over a real problem.
- The layout genuinely doesn't work; here a fuller makeover or wall removal may add more than it costs.
- You're not selling for years — in that case, renovate for yourself, not the next owner.
We'll tell you straight at the consultation if a refresh won't move your price. We'd rather you spent nothing than spent it badly.

Annandale · a full kitchen makeover, finished and ready for the campaign.
Less than you think — and it's about return, not just spend.
Every quote starts with a free in-home consultation, because no two kitchens are the same and a sell-ready refresh shouldn't be priced off a template. What we can tell you up front: a refresh is a fraction of the cost of a full renovation, and the right one usually returns more than it costs at sale.
The question worth asking isn't only "what will it cost" — it's "what will it add". Money spent on the parts buyers actually see can lift both your sale price and how quickly the home moves. Renovating to sell — your questions
Is it worth renovating a kitchen before selling?
Usually yes — if the kitchen is dated but sound. The kitchen is one of the first things buyers judge, and a tired one can drag down the perceived value of the whole home. A targeted refresh tends to return more than it costs at sale. If the kitchen is already in good shape, or genuinely needs rebuilding, the answer can be different — which is exactly what we'll tell you at the consultation.
How much should I spend renovating to sell?
Enough to make the kitchen look current, and no more. The goal isn't your dream kitchen — it's the smallest spend that makes the biggest difference to your sale. A pre-sale refresh is a fraction of a full renovation, and every quote starts with a free in-home consultation so the spend is matched to your home and your market.
What adds the most value for the least money?
The parts buyers actually see and touch: new cabinet doors, an updated benchtop, a fresh splashback and new handles. Together they can make a dated kitchen read as near-new without touching the layout or the plumbing — which is where the big costs live.
Should I do a full renovation or just a refresh before selling?
For most sellers, a refresh. A full renovation only makes sense before a sale when the layout genuinely doesn't work or something is failing. If the bones are fine and it just looks dated, a refresh gets you most of the visual lift for a small share of the cost.
How long does a pre-sale kitchen refresh take?
Most refreshes are measured, made and installed in weeks rather than months. Because we're updating rather than rebuilding, the disruption is far smaller — which matters when you're trying to keep a home presentable for inspections.
Can you work to my auction or listing date?
Yes — tell us your date at the consultation and we'll be honest about what's achievable in the time. If a deadline is tight, we'll focus on the updates that move the needle most so the kitchen is ready for the campaign.
