Laundry Renovations Sydney
New cabinetry, stone benchtops and storage that actually fits the space you have.
A Laundry Built Around How You Actually Use It
A laundry renovation replaces the cabinetry, benchtop and storage in your laundry with new, made-to-measure joinery. At Kitchen & Home Renovations Co. we design and install laundries across Sydney from our Taren Point showroom, using the same materials and the same in-house installers as our kitchens.
Most laundries were designed around a washing machine and not much else. A cupboard over the tub, a bit of bench if you were lucky, and nowhere to put the basket down. Thirty years later you are still working around it.
We measure the room properly, work out where the wasted space is, and rebuild it so the storage, bench and appliances sit where they should. It is usually the smallest room we renovate and the one clients say they notice most.
Renovating your kitchen too? Doing both together means one design, one install team and matching finishes across the two rooms.
- Kitchen & Home Renovations Co. designs and installs laundry renovations across Sydney, with a showroom at Taren Point.
- We remove the old benchtop and cabinetry and install new joinery made to measure for your room — nothing is fitted over the top of what is already there.
- Laundry benchtops are made in Quantum Zero engineered stone or Quantum Porcelain, in 20mm and 40mm.
- Cabinet doors come in melamine, thermolaminated and polyurethane finishes, in a wide colour range.
- Small and European-style laundries are a large part of what we do — a narrow room is a design problem, not a dealbreaker.
- Every renovation starts with a free in-home consultation, with no obligation to proceed.
What a Laundry Renovation Covers
Every laundry is different, so the scope is set at your consultation. These are the elements we most often replace.
What We Design and Install
- New cabinetry — overhead, base and full-height units made to measure
- New benchtops in engineered stone or porcelain
- Cabinet doors, drawers and soft-close hardware
- Handles, hanging rails and pull-out storage
- Laundry tubs and undermount sinks
- Splashbacks in stone, porcelain or tile
Trades We Coordinate
- Plumbing for tubs, taps and machine connections
- Electrical for power points and lighting
- Tiling to floors and walls where required
- Removal and disposal of the old cabinetry and benchtop
You deal with one point of contact for the whole job, not a list of separate trades.
Laundry Benchtop Surfaces
We remove the existing benchtop and splashback completely and install a new surface, made to measure. Popular thicknesses are 20mm and 40mm.
Not sure which suits your room? Bring a photo into the Taren Point showroom and see the full range side by side, or we can bring samples to you.
Laundry Cabinet Doors
Three door finishes cover almost every laundry. All three come in a wide colour range, and all three can be matched to the doors in your kitchen.
See the full range on our cabinet door styles page, or read more about replacing cabinet doors.
Where the Space Usually Hides
Most laundries have more usable space than they appear to. These are the three changes that make the biggest difference in a small room.
From First Visit to Finished Laundry
Free In-Home Consultation
Our designer comes to you, measures the room and talks through what is not working. You get ideas and a firm price, with no obligation to go ahead.
Design and Selections
We work out the layout, then you choose your benchtop, doors, handles and splashback. You can do this at home or at the Taren Point showroom with the full range in front of you.
Check Measure and Manufacture
A second, precise measure confirms every dimension before anything is cut. Your cabinetry and stone are then made to those measurements.
Installation
Our own installers remove the old laundry, fit the new one and take the rubbish away. We confirm the timeline with you before we start, and work to it.
Our installers are employed by us, not subcontracted, and you have one point of contact from the first visit to the final check.
What Clients Say About Their Laundries
This is the second time we have used this company and again they have surpassed all expectations. Our laundry, although small, is gorgeous and met the brief perfectly. Could not recommend highly enough.

Laundry Renovation FAQs
What does a laundry renovation include?
A laundry renovation with Kitchen & Home Renovations Co. typically includes new made-to-measure cabinetry, a new benchtop and splashback, new doors and drawer hardware, and a new tub or sink. We remove and dispose of the old cabinetry and benchtop, and coordinate the plumbing, electrical and tiling required to complete the room. The exact scope is agreed at your free in-home consultation.
How much does a laundry renovation cost in Sydney?
A laundry renovation in Australia generally ranges from around $4,000 for a benchtop and door update to $25,000 or more for a full rebuild with new cabinetry, plumbing and electrical work. The main variables are the size of the room, the surfaces you choose, and how much of the layout and services change. Rather than working from a range, we give you a firm price for your room at your free in-home consultation.
Can you renovate a small or European-style laundry?
Yes. Small and European-style laundries are a large part of what we do. A narrow room usually has more usable space than it appears to — the gap above the overhead cupboards, the depth behind a shallow shelf, and the wall beside the machine are the three we look at first. Full-height cabinetry and pull-out storage are the changes that make the biggest difference in a compact space.
Do I need council approval for a laundry renovation?
Council approval is not usually required for a laundry renovation unless the work involves structural change or major building work. Replacing cabinetry, benchtops, doors and fixtures within the existing room generally does not require approval. We recommend checking with your local council if you are unsure.
Should I paint my existing laundry doors or replace them?
Painting is cheaper in materials, but it is worth weighing that against the hours involved and how the finish holds up. Paint on laundry doors can peel and scratch, particularly in a room with steam and moisture. Manufactured doors are made to take knocks, and polyurethane doors are sprayed in a controlled process that makes them resistant to moisture, stains and everyday wear. If you do paint, use a spray gun and a paint made for cabinetry.
Can you match my laundry to my kitchen?
Yes, and it is one of the most common requests we get. Because we make the cabinetry and cut the stone ourselves, we can match the door colour, finish, handles and benchtop across both rooms. If you are renovating both, doing them together means one design, one install team and one point of contact.
