A Renovation That Refreshes Everything That Matters

At Kitchen & Home Renovations Co., our kitchen renovations are designed for homeowners who are happy with their existing layout but no longer love the look of their kitchen — and aren't ready for the cost, time, or disruption of a full rebuild. Instead of ripping everything out and starting from scratch, we work with the structure you already have, replacing the elements that genuinely change how your kitchen looks and feels.

New benchtops, new doors, new splashback, new hardware — all without the expense and disruption of a complete rebuild. The result is a kitchen that feels brand new, for considerably less than starting from scratch. From our Caringbah showroom, we've renovated kitchens for families from Cronulla and Miranda to Coogee, Balmain and Mosman for more than 35 years.

A recent Sydney kitchen renovation — same layout, completely new look.

If you want a complete tear-out-and-rebuild, that's a new kitchen — and we do those too. If you only need benchtops replaced or doors refaced, those are dedicated services in their own right. But if you want a renovation that does everything in one go without the upheaval of a full rebuild — you're on the right page.

What's Included

What A Kitchen Renovation Covers

Every kitchen is different, but a typical KAHR renovation includes the elements below — replaced, refitted and finished as one coordinated job.

01
New Benchtops

Premium Quantum Zero engineered stone or Quantum Porcelain, made to measure and installed as a new benchtop. A wide range of colours and finishes, with edge profiles to suit — square, waterfall, mitred, chamfered.

02
New Cabinet Doors & Drawer Fronts

Modern melamine, shaker, or polyurethane profiles — melamine in the full polytec range, shaker and polyurethane colour-matched to any Dulux colour. Soft-close hinges and drawer runners standard.

03
New Splashback

Tile, glass, or matching stone — installed cleanly with no disruption to the surrounding walls. The splashback is what ties benchtop and cabinetry together visually.

04
New Handles, Sink & Tapware

Matt black, brushed brass, brushed nickel, or handleless — modern hardware transforms how the kitchen reads. Sink and tapware swap-outs are coordinated as part of the renovation.

05
Optional Layout Adjustments

Small layout changes — adding an island, extending a benchtop, adjusting the shape of an existing run — are all possible within a renovation. Larger structural changes like wall removal can be added.

Why Renovate Instead Of Rebuild

The Smarter Choice For Most Sydney Kitchens

A full rebuild isn't always the best answer — and for the majority of the kitchens we see, it's the wrong one. Most full kitchen rebuilds run six to ten weeks, with major demolition, plaster repairs, and weeks of disruption. A KAHR renovation is typically installed in three to five days, with the cabinet boxes left in place.

Done well, a renovation looks identical to a brand-new kitchen — new benchtops, new doors, new splashback, new hardware. The parts your eye actually sees. The cost is considerably lower, the timeline is a fraction, and the mess is a fraction smaller too.

For homeowners happy with their kitchen layout, it's the path most people choose once they've seen the alternative.

Common Questions

Kitchen Renovation FAQ

How long does a kitchen renovation take?
Most KAHR kitchen renovations are completed in three to five days of on-site work, once your design is finalised and your materials are manufactured. The design and manufacturing phase typically adds two to four weeks before installation begins. That's significantly faster than a full new kitchen, which usually takes six to ten weeks on site.
Do I have to move out during the renovation?
No — one of the biggest advantages of a renovation over a new build is that you can usually stay in your home throughout. We'll set up a temporary cooking area for you, and the kitchen is typically usable again within three to five days. Customers tell us this is one of the things they value most.
Will my kitchen really look like a new kitchen?
Yes — and that's the point. By replacing the visible elements (benchtops, doors, splashback, hardware) and leaving the cabinet boxes in place, the finished result is visually indistinguishable from a brand new kitchen. We invite you to visit our Caringbah showroom or browse our before-and-after gallery to see for yourself.
What if my cabinets are damaged or in bad condition?
If the existing cabinet boxes are damaged, water-affected, or poorly built, a renovation may not be the right fit and a new kitchen may make more sense. Our designer will assess the condition of your existing cabinetry during your free in-home consultation and give you an honest recommendation.
Can I change the layout of my kitchen during a renovation?
Small changes — adding an island, extending a benchtop, adjusting the shape of an existing run — are all possible within a renovation. Larger structural changes like removing a wall can be coordinated as part of the project, often using our trusted builder partner.
Do you service my area?
We service homeowners across Sydney from our Caringbah showroom in the Sutherland Shire — including the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, St George area, and North Shore. If you're not sure whether your suburb is in our service area, give us a call on 02 9531 2004.
