Every project follows the same five-stage process. The detail varies — colour choices, door profiles, whether you are changing handles or hinges — but the rhythm is consistent.
One of our designers visits your home to look at the kitchen, take rough measurements, and talk through what you want. We bring samples so you can see and feel finishes against your existing space.
You receive a written quote with the doors, finishes, hinges, and handles you have chosen. If you are unsure on a colour or profile, a follow-up visit to the Taren Point showroom usually settles it.
Once you give us the go-ahead, we return for a precise measure of every door and drawer front. Your custom doors are then ordered, made, and finished to fit your existing cabinetry exactly.
Our installers remove the old doors, install the new ones with soft-close hinges as standard, and fit your chosen handles. Door-only installs are fast, with minimal disruption to your home.
We walk through the finished kitchen with you, adjust anything that needs adjusting, and leave you with care instructions for your specific finish. Any issues afterwards — you call us.
When Door Replacement Is The Right Call (And When It Isn't)
Replacing the doors works beautifully when the bones of your kitchen are good. If the layout still suits how you live, the cabinets are structurally sound, and you are mainly tired of how the kitchen looks, doors will give you the biggest visual change for the least disruption.
It is not the right call if the layout itself is the problem — if you need to move the sink, knock out a wall, or rebuild around a new appliance configuration. Age matters too: once cabinets are more than thirty years old the boxes are often near the end of their life, and it's usually wiser to replace everything in one go than to fit new doors now and hit problems a few years down the track. In those cases a full kitchen renovation or a new kitchen makes more sense, and we will tell you that at the consultation. We have been doing this long enough that we would rather lose a job than do the wrong job.
